On December 12, 2009, Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem dedicated a home game to the children of SHALVA in celebration of the rights of citizens with special needs. Tolerance and inclusion were the primary focus of the occasion and all proceeds from ticket sales were donated for advanced therapies and programming at SHALVA.
Each team member marched onto the court hand-in-hand with a SHALVA child and, in turn, every child was handed a gift from a respective player. (The gifts were all generously donated by Jerusalem businessman Yossi Pinto.) At half-time, two SHALVA youngsters were paired with peers from the Hapoel Migdal Youth Club and they competed in shooting baskets!
The evening's theme was “Color My World With Hope" in acknowledgement of the desire of every child to find a loving place within normative society.
