SHALVA & HADASSAH: Partnering for a Healthier Israel!
On Sunday, March 21, 2010, Shalva and Hadassah Medical Center co-sponsored an enormously successful one day conference, marking the International Day for Downs Syndrome. Over 350 participants attended the symposium that was held at the Mount Scopus campus.
Introductory remarks were given by the Director General of Hadassah, Professor Shlomo Mor Yosef, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Social Welfare Dr. Chaya Aminadav, and Shalva’s Founder and Director, Kalman Samuels. This is the fourth year Shalva has co-hosted an annual academic conference with Hadassah and each one has received accolades for professionalism and the dissemination of cutting edge information.
The respective Masters of Ceremonies were a Hadassah representative and Efrat Dotan from Shalva. Efrat is a graduate of Shalva’s Adult Life-Skills Program who, lately, has become a familiar ‘media personality’ via her interviews with famous people. Her involvement at the Hadassah Conference was proficient and well-received.
Shalva continues to play a significant role in the fields of teaching, advocacy, special education, and disability awareness.
