Kids shine at "Shalva Idol!'

The show is open to any child who can go on stage. Each youngster is given a part that is prepared especially for him according to his ability. Those who cannot sing can drum on the tarbuka. Some of the children participate with a  bell attached to their wrists; some hold up signs with the lyrics and some simply sway to the music. This evening is dedicated to the children and reaffirms their important under the their positive attitude title "Everyone Is a Star."

The concept of the event is based on the children's enjoyment of the TV show "A Star Is Born." Their positive attitude toward the celebrities enhances their motivation to cooperate with the professional teams at Shalva, and we act on this sentiment to advance the kids throughout the months of preparation and after.

"Shalva Idol" 2008

The 2008 production featured 10 groups, each with their own special song to sing.  MC and  popular star of Israel's Children's Channel, Asaf Eshtar, said "I knew I would be moved but I didn't know how much".  Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barket commended Shalva on its achievemnet.

"Shalva Idol" 2007

Program
The program consisted of eight competing groups of children from "The Afternoon Show" as they sang and played familiar Israeli songs. At the end of each song, a "professional" opinion was given (only positive) by the host, Sharon Shachal (from "Dig Dig Dug"). Nevertheless, at the end of the evening, all the kids who participated in the show were given the titles of "Winner" and "Star."

Special Guest
In the middle of the show, a special guest arrived - Jacko Eisenberg, the winner of the last "Star Is Born" contest. He surprised the audience by singing his hits "Falling Asleep in the Sun" and the auditions hit "Its Difficult Not to Get Excited." As he sang the last song, a few of the kids joined him on stage and sang along with great enthusiasm.
