Shalva's children give back to the community
It looked like your average garage sale, an impromptu bazaar like many others that crop up from time to time on a Jerusalem street. But this one had a difference. The fair was planned -- and manned -- by the children of Shalva to help raise money for children at risk.
The event, which took place on a warm July evening in Jerusalem's German Colony, had Shalva children behind the tables, selling second-hand goods, refreshments and original crafts they themselves had made for the fair.
The Shalva children were involved in every aspect of the event, including the entertainment which was a live performance by the Shalva band before an enthusiastic crowd.
The event was organized by Shai Ben-Shoshan, Director of Shalva's music therapy program.
