The Rehabilitative Day Care Center is a natural extension of the Me & My Mommy program. It was founded in 2003 in response to data that recognizes the value of early intervention and the role that interceding therapy plays in forming a sound foundation for future development.
The Center is staffed with nursery teachers and assistants for each age group and is overseen by a team of professional therapists. Treatments offered include speech therapy, occupational healing, physiotherapy, computer based therapy, animal therapy, multi-sensory therapy (“Snoezelen” room), music therapy, hydrotherapy and more.
Leading experts in the field strongly advise that the family be actively involved in the rehabilitative process of the child with special needs and therefore SHALVA parents are encouraged to take an active role in the rehabilitative process. The successful program entails parental sessions during class hours in order that the remedial process becomes interactive.
Reinforcement at home is a salient feature of all SHALVA programs
