Located in some of Jerusalem’s most vibrant neighborhoods, Shalva’s community apartments are carefully designed with everyday life in mind. Every detail reflects a commitment to comfort, autonomy, and meaningful daily living.

The day begins at home with a light breakfast, followed by getting ready and heading out to work or vocational training. Afternoons include classes, leisure activities, outings around the city, or free time with friends at home. Evenings are centered around togetherness, residents take turns preparing dinner, and enjoy a routine that feels familiar, stable, and meaningful.
Up to six residents live in each apartment.
Yes. Residents are carefully matched to create a positive, supportive dynamic much like a family.
Yes. Residents receive continuous, 24/7 professional support within the apartment.
Yes. Each resident takes part in a personalized vocational or daily activity program. Activities are consistent, purposeful, and tailored to individual abilities and goals.
The intake process is gradual and selective, and acceptance is not guaranteed. Candidates are admitted only after a careful assessment of suitability. The process includes meetings with the candidate and family, professional evaluations, review by the Ministry of Welfare, and final approval by an admissions committee. Families are supported and guided throughout every step of the process.
Absolutely. Families are always welcome to visit, stay informed, and remain actively involved. We believe in strong family partnerships and full transparency.
