In a remarkable journey of determination and unity, 30 climbers, including individuals with disabilities, recently ascended Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, to support Shalva.
Among these inspiring individuals was 24-year-old Maayan Gabai, who has cerebral palsy. Defying physical challenges, Maayan reached the summit using crutches, embodying the spirit of resilience and breaking barriers.
This expedition not only tested physical endurance but also fostered profound connections. At the summit, Maayan encountered a fellow climber from Iran, leading to a heartfelt exchange that transcended political divides and highlighted shared humanity.
Collectively, the team raised over NIS 1,000,000 (approximately $281,000) for Shalva, supporting programs that empower individuals with disabilities.
We hope to see you at our next climb!
